This campaign is to help improve people’s knowledge of this disease which more than 7,500 people are diagnosed with every year.
The number of people diagnosed with the disease has increased by 40% in the last decade. Many cases are linked to lifestyle choices, smoking, alcohol, poor diet and sexual activity – it is important to remember that mouth cancer can affect anybody.
3 signs & symptoms to remember!
• Ulcers which do not heal within 3 weeks
• Red & white patches in the mouth
• Unusual lumps or swellings in the mouth, head or neck area
If any of these are spotted, a dentist or doctor should be seen immediately.
